Privacy Policy for Momentum (App) and gluckz.com (Website)

Who we are: Gluckz (legal name: Anthany Wilhelm) is an independent developer based in the United States.

This policy explains what information I collect, how I use it, and the choices you have when using Momentum – Sobriety Tracker (the “App”) and gluckz.com (the “Website”). Because we iterate quickly, this policy is updated frequently. By accessing or using the App or Website you acknowledge and accept the most current version and agree to review it before each use or return regularly for updates.

1) Audience & Eligibility

The App and Website are intended for Mature 17+ audiences. They are not directed to children under 13. If you are under the minimum age in your region, do not use the services.

2) What I (do not) collect

  • No account, no login. The App does not require an account and I do not run a backend that stores your entries.
  • Local data by default. Your sobriety start date, streaks, reminders, and journal entries are stored on your device.
  • Photos (optional, user-initiated). If you attach a photo to a journal entry, the App reads only the image you select via the system photo picker. The App does not scan your library.
    • Share cards: when you create a share card, the App generates an image and saves it to your device (MediaStore). This does not require reading existing photos.
  • Notifications. If enabled, the App sets local notifications/reminders on your device.
  • Crash/diagnostics. I may receive aggregated, de-identified crash and performance data from Google Play (Android vitals). Your journal content is never included.
  • Support communications. If you email me or use the site’s contact form, I receive the information you provide (e.g., email address, message).

3) Payments and ads

  • In-app purchases. Purchases (e.g., “remove ads”) are processed by Google Play Billing. I do not receive your full payment details.
  • Advertising (removable). The App may show ads. Ad partners may collect device identifiers and usage information to provide and measure ads under their own policies. You can remove ads via IAP.

4) Website analytics & cookies

The Website may use basic analytics (e.g., page views) and cookies or similar technologies to understand traffic and improve the site. No sensitive personal data is inferred from visits.

5) How I use information

  • Provide core features (streaks, reminders, journaling, share cards).
  • Improve reliability and performance (diagnostics/aggregates).
  • Respond to support requests.

I do not sell your personal data.

6) Where your data lives & transfers

  • App data is stored locally on your device. If you uninstall, local data may be removed by the OS.
  • Emails you send are processed by email providers and may be stored in the U.S. or other regions depending on their infrastructure.

7) Your choices & controls

  • Photos: Only accessed when you choose an image for a journal entry. You can revoke permissions in Settings → Apps → Momentum → Permissions.
  • Notifications: Control in-app or in device settings.
  • Ads: Remove ads with the in-app purchase (when available). You can also limit ad personalization in Google settings.
  • Delete data: Clear the App’s storage or uninstall to remove local data. To delete prior support emails, contact support@gluckz.com.

8) Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Where applicable, I process data based on:

  • Legitimate interests: running, securing, and improving the App/Website (e.g., diagnostics).
  • Consent: optional features like photo access or notifications, per your device settings.

9) Third-party services

The App/Website may interact with:

  • Google Play Billing (Google)
  • Advertising providers (only if ads are enabled)
  • Email/hosting providers (for support and the website)

These providers have their own privacy policies and may act as independent controllers.

10) Security

I take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method is 100% secure. Because the App stores data locally, please secure your device.

11) Changes to this policy

This policy evolves often as we refine features, meet legal requirements, and improve protections. When updates publish, we refresh the Effective date and post the latest version at https://gluckz.com/privacy.

Please check back periodically and before you use the App or Website to ensure you have reviewed the most current Privacy Policy. Continuing to access Momentum or gluckz.com after any update means you accept the revised policy; if you do not agree, discontinue use until you can review and accept the newest version.
